Community through Art
The Center for Therapy, Grief & the Arts welcomes you to contemplate how you would like to be a part of this community. The center consists of myself, and any people or artistic institutions involved in helping to create community for those who are grieving. In addition to therapeutic services, I create community and connection to reduce social stigma around grief, foster resilience, and invite openness and reflection.
Current projects in progress include:
The Grief Opera - live recordings of people who live in/around the city of Seattle describing their experiences of grief- mixed in a sound collage with music/choral sounds underneath.
The Art Memorial Cemetery - an online memorial place where people can post an original artwork (photo, song, poem, painting, etc) dedicated to someone they loved and lost.
The Massive Annual Party - based on the title of a play about how grief can shatter the structure of a family, the Massive Annual Party is an annual party thrown by The Center for Therapy, Grief & the Arts that showcases artwork created in remembrance of loved ones who have died.
